The Color Blue

ASL Project 2023

Creating a video about promoting the color blue, with a twist.
This project came with a unique set of limitations: the video had to be entirely in black and white, with no lyrics, no letters, and no numbers. These strict guidelines challenged me to move beyond conventional storytelling methods.

To convey the essence of the color blue without ever showing it, I relied on the expressive power of visual composition, using three core elements of communication: paper, photography, and American Sign Language (ASL). Together, these tools allowed me to evoke the emotion, depth, and complexity of blue in a visually compelling and thought-provoking way.
